Set up Direct Deposit and Get Paid up to 2 Days Earlier with TGIW!

May 17, 2017 By Green Dot Leave a Comment

Friday has become the highlight of our American work week — the beginning of the weekend, a night to go out with friends, and, most importantly, payday. In fact, more than 50% of Green Dot customers get paid on Friday. After all, what carries more weekend spirit than a little extra cash in your bank account?

But… wouldn’t you rather put a little weekend into your Wednesday?

With a Green Dot card, you can. We call it: The TGIW (Thank Goodness It’s Wednesday) Campaign.

Here’s a little known fact: Many employers notify banks of upcoming direct deposits a couple of days before payday. So why wait until Friday when your bank already knows about your payment on Wednesday? Green Dot Bank decided its customers shouldn’t have to wait when your employer or benefits provider gives us early notice you have money coming.

With direct deposit, you can get paid up to two days early when your payment provider gives us early notice!*

This even works for benefits like social security, pensions, and tax refunds. In fact, here’s a list of all the payments you can direct deposit up to two days early with Green Dot:

  • Weekly paychecks
  • Social security benefits
  • Tax refunds
  • Pensions
  • State unemployment benefits (depending on your state)
  • Worker’s compensation and other government disability benefits (depending on your state)
  • Veteran’s benefits

And if you want to direct deposit just a portion of your paycheck, that’s no problem. You can decide how much of your paycheck you’d like direct deposited.

So basically, you could keep waiting until Friday to get a little extra cash in your account. Or, you could stop waiting.

Want to sign up and join the TGIW crowd? Click here and follow the easy Green Dot sign-up process.

Green Dot cards have no minimum balance and never charge overdraft or penalty fees. Fees and limits apply. See GreenDot.com for details. They are available online or at more than 100,000 retailers nationwide, including Walmart, Walgreens, CVS, and more.

Speaking of payday,
Green Dot also offers a weekly
$5,000 Payday Bonus sweepstakes!

You can enter every single week — really and truly. To enter, simply register your Green Dot card and use it to make purchases. Every purchase equals one more entry in that week’s drawing. Each Friday, we draw a winner. That way you can keep a little weekend fun in your Friday — but still get paid as early as Wednesday.

TGIF is so last year. Instead, put a little weekend into your Wednesday. Now that’s smart banking!

No purchase necessary to enter sweepstakes. See rules and winners here.
*Not every employer or benefits provider gives us early notice every payday, but many do.
