There are a variety of methods for receiving your Supplemental Security Income (SSI) monthly payments, but did you know that you can get those payments direct deposited onto your Green Dot card?
Customers with Green Dot prepaid cards may get their direct deposits faster. Here’s the estimated Social Security SSI payment schedule calendar for Green Dot customers – November 2016:
1: Are you getting an SSI payment – OR – did you start getting SSA benefits prior to May 1997?
For people who receive SSA & SSI benefits and have a normal payment date of November 1, 2016 from US TREASURY, their November deposits will post as early as October 31st (but give it until November 1st).
For people who began receiving benefits prior to May 1997, or who receive both SSA & SSI payments with a normal payment date of November 3, 2016 from US TREASURY, their November deposits will post as early as November 1st (but give it until November 3rd).
2: Did you start getting Social Security benefits after May 1997?
(Your deposit date will vary based on your birth date)
If your regular social security payment normally posts during the 2nd, 3rd or 4th week of the month, you can refer to this estimated birthday calendar payment schedule for Green Dot customers – November 2016:
If your birth date is on… | Your benefits will be deposited onto your Green Dot Card between… |
1st – 10th | November 7th – 9th |
11th – 20th | November 14th – 16th |
21st – 31st | November 21st – 23rd |
Government payments are generally received before 9:00pm Eastern Standard Time / 6:00pm Pacific Standard Time. Please remember that we always post direct deposits as soon as we receive them as long as your account is active and in good standing. Green Dot often receives direct deposits from the Social Security Administration before the scheduled payment date shown on the Social Security SSI calendar for 2016, provided by the US Treasury. As soon as Green Dot receives these deposits, we post the SSI payment onto your prepaid card, to get your money to you as soon as possible. Green Dot has no control over when we receive direct deposits from the government or any other payment providers.
